Issue periods determine how many issues of a publication will be published per year.
Publications can have many issues, and issues can have many articles.
Each issue is comprised of a Publication, Issue Period and Year.
Common issue periods are
- monthly (January, February, March)
- bimonthly (March/April, May/June)
- seasonally (Winter, Spring).
You can edit the periods available for your issues by clicking the issue periods menu item on the left-hand menu.
In the example from the diagram above, one publication publishes monthly, and the other seasonally. The issues would make use of 16 different issue periods defined in the system. The display order should be set to match the timing of the publishing of each issue so they be ordered appropriately in lists.
